Guava Shuishui, the beloved content creator behind the Guava Beauty account, has sadly passed away. The 24-year-old influencer, who was widely known for her bold and unconventional approach to beauty and food content, died on May 24, 2025. Her family shared the news through a heartfelt Instagram post, translated from Chinese.
“It is with deep sorrow that we announce Guava Shuishui has set down her makeup tools and embarked on a new journey to the heavens, forever smiling and hungry to open a brand new channel,” the statement read. “Though her departure was sudden, Shuishui faced every difficult moment with her usual dedication, strength, and radiance.”
The tribute continued with gratitude to her followers: “Thank you to everyone who supported, laughed with, and messaged her over the years. She held your kindness close to her heart. Now, Guava Shuishui is just creating content in another place, still shining brightly. Perhaps, by the time we meet again, she’ll already have reviewed celestial-exclusive makeup collections and snacks.”

A short video of Shuishui smiling and waving was posted alongside the announcement. The cause of her death has not been publicly disclosed.
With over 12,000 followers, Guava Shuishui stood out for her unique blend of beauty and food videos, often pushing the boundaries of traditional makeup tutorials. One of her most talked-about clips, posted in November 2024, featured her dramatically biting into a blush compact after applying it to her face — a gesture that sparked widespread conversation online.
“This is a new concept I’ve been wanting to launch,” she wrote in that post, noting that her content was meant to be creative and experimental, not instructional. “It’s controversial, yes — but I like it. This project is not for children under six, and absolutely no one should eat these products.”
Reactions to her content were mixed. While some fans appreciated her creativity and sense of humor, others voiced concern about the potential health risks. “It’s one thing if lipstick is accidentally ingested, but please don’t promote deliberately eating cosmetics,” a commenter warned.
